Fire Retardant PU-Foam NBS: B1 Fire Foam for Professional Installers
When a joint or penetration has to meet stricter fire requirements, a standard B3 foam is not an option. Fire retardant PU-Foam NBS is a ready-to-use, one-component fire retardant foam classified B1 according to DIN 4102. It fills, seals and insulates joints, seams and cavities, and adheres to concrete, masonry, wood and metal. Because the foam shows no shrinkage after curing, it keeps the joint closed against airflow.
- Fire class B1 according to DIN 4102
- No shrinkage after curing
- Thermal conductivity of 0.035–0.041 W/(m·K)
- Tensile strength 120 kPa, adhesion strength 100 kPa
- Tack-free in 7–8 minutes, cuttable after 40–60 minutes
A Gun-Grade B1 PU Foam for Frames, Joints and Penetrations
As a gun grade foam, Fire retardant PU-Foam NBS is dosed precisely with a PU foam gun into frame joints, window sills, cavities, pipe penetrations and electrical installations. It delivers approx. 40 litres of foam per can and withstands -50 °C to +78 °C once cured. Please note that the B1 classification describes the fire behaviour of the foam itself under test conditions; it does not by itself indicate a fire-resistance duration for a complete joint or penetration construction. For fire-rated applications, check the applicable classification report. Cured foam must be protected against UV outdoors.
